San Pedro Ceremonies Vilcabamba, Ecuador
Ceremonies begin in the early morning and last until the early evening, right before sunset. Pick up and drop off to and from the ceremony is provided free from the center town square and is only a 10 minutes taxi ride away. Everyone usually meets in front of the church in the towns center at 7:30 a.m. Group sizes are usually anywhere between 6 or 8 people so everyone will get a chance to work directly with Santiago, ask questions and get the healing they need.
To get to where the Moloka is located is a healthy climb, so wear sturdy shoes and if you can try to avoid flip-flops. Usually the weather is fairly warm during the day and evening so no need for heavy clothing, but feel free to bring a blanket to make your sit more comfortable. People normally sit on the various benches and seats around the Moloka or on the floor with a blanket.
It is advised that you only drink water in the morning and eat small piece of fruit, the day of the ceremony if you need to. San Pedro can make you purge if you are working through energetic blocks so it is best not to have a lot of food in your stomach. Refrain from red meat, pork and beans the night before. In terms of diet San Pedro is a lot more forgiving than the Ayahuasca diet, but generally if you eat healthy and honor your body the days leading up to the ceremony you will get the most benefit.
A beautiful array of fresh fruits (and chocolate!) is served at the end of every ceremony so you will have plenty of delicious healthy food to eat after the long day. It is customary to bring a little fruit or anything you would like to share but not necessary. Feel free to bring your crystals, stones or amulets, as there will be a place to put them during the ceremony if you want to charge them with your intentions.
The cost of the ceremony is $101 per person (usually 6-8 people). What you will get out of the ceremony can't be put into monetary terms. What you will learn will be with you the rest of your life.
Come with an open heart, come with an open mind, come if you are feeling sick, come if you are feeling good, come if you feel afraid, come if you are feeling disconnected, come if you need guidance, but most of all just come—new friends, new family and new possibilities for your life await you.
